St. Louis weather can best be described as a heartless tease.
Last week, we woke up to temperatures in the fifties, and the skies were a uniform blue without a trace of clouds. I turned off the air conditioning in the car and rolled down the windows, and I took to putting on a light jacket before taking Dakota on his morning walk.
Today though, it’s going to be in the mid-eighties, and I suspect I’ll go right back to sweating.
At least it held out long enough for the half-marathon this weekend. My chip time was 2:16:16—a little slower than the last one, but there was that bathroom break that we absolutely needed to take (pity the poor girl in line in front of us who, well, didn’t quite make it to the porta-potty in time). Plus, Miz T. had a plummeting blood sugar episode around mile 9, and so we were just glad to cross the finish line. (Bless her heart, about a quarter mile from the end, she said to me, “Go for it,” and I sprinted the rest of the way in. There’s something to be said for saving a bit for the end.)
I haven’t forgotten that I need to tell you about the wedding last month. Plus, we have a new bundle of joy whom I need to gush about endlessly….

Oh, ew. When one’s hobbies lead to this, perhaps it’s time to take up knitting or something.

Congrats on the run. I sympathize with the poor girl. There but for the grace of God…

Ya gotta give that gal credit for running the race. I’m sure she’s aware of her own weak bladder. Or, at a minimum, she is now.
